RUTH  JOYNER  GRANTHAM



OZARK...Ruth Joyner Grantham, a resident of Ozark, died Thursday, March 14, 2013, in Signature Healthcare of North Florida, in Graceville. She was 74.


            Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, March 17, 2013, in the Chalkhead Baptist Church with Reverend Tommy West officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Holman-Headland Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.  The family will receive friends from 12:30 until 2:00 P.M. Sunday in the church sanctuary.


            Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Chalkhead Baptist Church, 495 Co. Rd. 35, Ozark, AL 36360.


            Mrs. Grantham was a native of Napier Field, daughter of the late J.B. Joyner and Janie Jackson Joyner. She was a graduate of Midland City High School and upon marriage, moved to the Ewell Community in 1955. Mrs. Grantham was also a graduate of Wallace Community College. She was a member of the Chalkhead Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school and served as church clerk for several years. Mrs. Grantham was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Sharon Cotten Grantham.


            Surviving relatives include her husband, Olen C. Grantham; four children, Terry Grantham, Tony Grantham, Maleah Grantham McKnight and Tyler Grantham; two grandchildren, Beth Childs and Flynt Grantham; a great-granddaughter, Farrah Grantham; a brother, Johnny Joyner (Amelia); an aunt, Blanche Hall, and a sister-in-law, Faye Tharpe (Whittle).
