SALLIE  BARNETTE  NOWLIN

ABBEVILLE. . .Sallie Barnette Nowlin, a resident of Abbeville, died Wednesday morning, June 12, 2013, at the home of her daughter, Sandra Salyers, in Riverview Forest on Lake Eufaula. She was 80.

            Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, June 14, 2013, in the Abbeville Memorial Cemetery with Reverend Thomas D. Gamble officiating. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 1:45 P.M. Friday at the mortuary in Abbeville.

            Flowers or memorial contributions may be made to Gentiva Hospice, P.O. Drawer 2127, Dothan, AL 36302.

            Mrs. Nowlin was born and reared in northern Henry County, daughter of the late Jessie Frederick Barnette, Sr. and Camilla Canzady Smith Barnette. She lived in the Abbeville area all her life. Mrs. Nowlin was preceded in death by her husband, Berman Royal (Ross) Nowlin, a son-in-law, Dale Salyers, two sisters, Lorene Sowell and Lounette Stinson, and two brothers, John Barnette and Jessie Barnette.

            Surviving relatives include a daughter, Sandra Nowlin Salyers, Abbeville; five sons, Terry Nowlin, Webb; Robert Nowlin and wife, Jo, Capps, AL; Wayne Nowlin and wife, Mary, Kinsey; Roger Nowlin, Midland City; and Timmy Nowlin, Abbeville; fifteen grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren on the way.
