Mrs. Sally Mock Allen of New Brockton passed away Wednesday, August 20, 2014.  She was 97.

 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, August 23, 2014, at Goodman Baptist Church with Reverend Bruce Williams and Dr. John Granger officiating.  Burial will follow in Meadowlawn Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home and Crematory of Enterprise directing.  The family will receive friends at the church Saturday beginning at 1:00 pm and continuing until service time.

Mrs. Allen was born January 23, 1917, in Coffee County, to the late Walter and Alberta Donaldson Mock.  Her career included selling World Book Encyclopedias for 18 years, winning several trips, and she also was the winner of two cars selling subscriptions in an Enterprise Ledger contest.  She was a faithful member of Goodman Baptist Church.

 

In addition to her parents, her husband, Ira Robert “Pete” Allen, 5 brothers, 3 sisters, and a son-in-law, Joe Tisdale, preceded her in death.

 

Survivors include 3 daughters:  Glenda Heath (Dan) of New Brockton, Tommie Harding (Tom) of Enterprise, and Faye Tisdale of Opp; 7 grandchildren: Allen Heath (Rene’), Dana Houston (Ross), Steve Watson (Cindy), Jenny Hughes, Rob Moore (Jennifer), Brandon Moore (Melissa), and Patrick Tisdale (Laurie); 9 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
