Samuel “Dawson” Sellers, 20, of Dothan, passed away Friday, August 22, 2014 at a local hospital.

Memorial services for Dawson will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Dawson Sellers Memorial Fund, c/o Dothan Area Botanical Gardens, 5130 Headland Ave., Dothan, Alabama 36303.

Dawson was born October 12, 1993 in Houston County and resided most of his life in Cottonwood. He attended Cottonwood High School, Ashford Academy, Ridgecrest Christian School and Wallace College. Dawson moved to Dothan in 2012 and he volunteered with the Master Gardeners at the Dothan Area Botanical Gardens. He was preceded in death by his father, David “Hook” Sellers.

Survivors include his mother, Beth Posey Sellers, Panama City Beach, Florida; two sisters, Lydia Kennedy and Melissa Sellers, Dothan; his grandfather, Dewey Sellers, Cottonwood; and by his longtime, faithful canine companion, Scruffy.
