Sara Howell Hendrix of Hartford passed away peacefully from this earth to her heavenly home on Monday, July 20, 2015, following a courageous battle against cancer.  She was 83.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 22, 2015, at Sorrells Funeral Home in Geneva with Bro. Jimmy Williams and Bro. Scott Benefield officiating.  Interment will follow at Wesley Chapel Church Cemetery in Hartford with Sorrells Funeral Home and Crematory of Geneva directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. prior to the service.  At all other times the family will be at her home.

Mrs. Hendrix was a beloved friend by all who knew her.  She loved her family and friends and let them know it.  She helped her husband with his business and was a homemaker, known for her excellent cooking and care-giving to family and friends.  She also had a passion for flowers and could be spotted most any time of day working in her yard.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Laban T. Hendrix; her parents, Seba and Gladys Howell; and two brothers, Jimmy Howell and Jack Howell.

Survivors include two sons: David (Tammy) Hendrix and Rodney (Margaret) Hendrix both of Hartford; two grandchildren, Jenny (Al) Gilmore, Dothan and Noah Hendrix, Hartford; one sister, Virginia (Jerry) Boschert and three brothers, Joe (Peggy) Howell, Ray (Paula) Howell, and Johnny (Kathy) Howell; and her best friend, Madie Sauls.

The family would like to thank her special caregivers: Tammy Fulford, Joyce Hatcher, Lisa Cotton with Care South Home Health, and Erica Littlefield with Dayspring Hospice.
