Mrs. Sharon McAllister, a resident of Dothan went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, March 4, 2015. She was 72.

Funeral services will be at 10 AM, Saturday, March 7, 2015 at First Presbyterian Church with Pastor Rob Oates officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 5 PM until 7 PM Friday, March 6, 2015 at Ward Wilson Funeral Home.

Mrs. McAllister was born December 30, 1942 in Springfield, Ohio and later moved to Dothan. Sharon greatly loved her family and friends, but most importantly loved God. When she wasn’t spending time serving the Lord, she was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. She served in the United States Air Force as an RN and was greatly involved in the community serving on the Board of the Dothan Rescue Mission from 1989 – 2014. She sang in the choir at First Presbyterian Church since 1979 and served as President of Women in the Church and President of Women of Southeast Alabama Presbyterian on two occasions.

Survivors include her daughters, Melinda McAllister of Wetumpka and Emily Jackson and husband Preston of Dothan; her son, Andrew McAllister and wife Pam of Panama City Beach, FL; and her grandchildren, Lillie and McAllister Skeen and Lauren, Katherine, and Alexandra McAllister.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Dothan Rescue Mission, P. O. Box 6691, Dothan, AL  36302.
