Sherri Sawyer, 50, of Slocomb passed away Friday July 26, 2013 at her residence.

Memorial services will be held 1 pm Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home with Minister Jim Simmons officiating and Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends following the services.

Mrs. Sawyer was born January 8, 1963 in Hartford, AL and spent the early part of her life there. She attended Hartford High School and was employed with Sony and Van Heusen for several years. She has been a homemaker for the past 15 years. She enjoyed spending time with and spoiling her grandchildren and caring for her german shepard Buffy. Sherri was preceded in death by her mother Maxine Lindsay.

Survivors include her husband James Michael Sawyer of Slocomb; a son Brian Childree and his wife Tiffany of Ashford; grandchildren, Dalyas Childree and Tristian Childree; her father James Edward Waters; a brother Roy Hughes; sisters, Jamie Waters, Donna Henley, and Debra Hughes; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
