SHIRLEY  THOMAS  WILLIAMS

HEADLAND. . .Shirley Harrison Thomas Williams, a resident of Headland, died early Tuesday morning, June 25, 2013, at her home. She was 67.

            Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, June 27, 2013, in Gardens of Memory, between Headland and Dothan, with Reverend Winford Gulledge officiating. Holman-Headland Mortuary is in charge of funeral arrangements. The family will receive friends following the graveside services.

            Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Gentiva Hospice, P.O. Drawer 2127, Dothan, AL 36302.

            Shirley Thomas Williams was born and reared on Harrison Road in Henry County, daughter of the late Ralph Harrison and Frances Hodges Harrison Trawick. A lifelong resident of Headland, she attended Headland High School and Wallace Community College. In earlier years, Shirley was self-employed as the owner and operator of Shirley’s Hair Shack in Headland. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Williams, two brothers, Kenneth Harrison and Rex Harrison, step-father, Ben Trawick, two brothers-in-law, Jerry Parmer and James Woodham, and a sister-in-law, Jean Harrison.

            Surviving relatives include three daughters, Felicia Register (Bobby), Headland; Beverly Dimsdale (Brian), Dothan; and Kimberly Adkins (Rex), Headland; three grandchildren, Josh Gray, Jonathan Gray (Marrisa), and Jeremy Adkins; three sisters, Patricia Woodham, and Pam Wright (Doyle), all of Headland; Loretta Jenkins (Mitchell), Snellville, GA; a brother, Harold Harrison (Anna), Bainbridge, GA; the father of her children, David Thomas (Janice), Headland.

            The family would like to express their appreciation to Gentiva Hospice and Dr. Richard Kennedy for the loving care and kindness shown to Shirley during her illness.
