Sister Ruth Trawick Buckner, a resident of Echo, Alabama, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, December 12, 2015 at her residence after an extended illness. She was 76.


Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at The Living Waters Church in Echo, AL with Rev. Chris Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends on Monday December 14, 2015 at the home of Joyce and Carl Gohagan, 103 County Road 340, Newville, AL 36353.


Sister Ruth Trawick Buckner was born on January 22, 1939 in Early County, Georgia. She is the daughter of the late James Alto Trawick and Pansey Cherry Trawick. Sister Buckner lived most of her adult life in the Echo Community in Dale County. She was an ordained Evangelist and a member of Faith Deliverance Church.


Sister Buckner was preceded in death by her son, Thomas Buckner, her husband, Jesse Buckner, her four sisters, and six brothers.


Survivors include her son, Thurson Prince, Echo; her 3 daughters, Vickie (Tim) Prince, Knoxville, MD, Joyce (Carl) Gohagan, Echo, and Renee (Jose Rios) Turner, Ozark; her grandchildren, Richard (Haley) Doswell, Ashford, Kellie (Jeremy) Taylor, Dothan, Erica Proffer (Erica Womeldorf), McAllen, TX, Jessica (Ron) Dietz, Ozark, Tiffany (Earl) Erwin, Port St. Lucie, FL, and Thomas Prince, Echo; her great-grandchildren, Austin Doswell, Ashford, Kaitlyn Doswell, Ashford, Lexy Taylor, Dothan, Ashlyn Diets, Ozark, Jocelyn Erwin, Port St. Lucie, John Erwin, Port St. Lucie, and Mackenzie Dietz, Ozark; her sisters, Nancy Copeland, Arlington, GA, and Mavis Watson, Blakely, GA; and her brother, Jimmy Trawick, Echo.


The family wishes to say a special Thank-you to Don Echevarrias for always being there.


Serving as active pallbearers will be Richard Doswell, Scott DeWolfe Thomas Prince, Don Echevarrias, Jose Rios, and Earl Erwin.
