Staff Sergeant (Ret.) William Ellis Stokes, II of Enterprise, AL passed away, Friday, February 08, 2013 in Southeast Alabama Medical Center.  He was 56.


           Memorial services will full military honors will be announced at a later date.


           Bill was born in Dallas, Texas.  He was retired as a Staff Sergeant from the U. S. Army having served as a combat engineer and air traffic controller.  He was a member of Wythe Rifles, North South Skirmish Association and the Tri State Gun Club.


           He was preceded in death by his parents, Doctor William E. Stokes, I and Rebecca E. Croft Stokes of Harlingen, Texas and his grandmother, Mattie Lou Croft, Panama City, FL.


           Survivors include his sister, Karin Stokes Gregor and husband, Wayne, Mineral, VA; nieces, Rebecca F. Fischer and husband, Michael; Elizabeth K Channell and husband, Brian; great-nieces, Madison J. Fischer; Harleigh Fischer; Kylie Faith Channell all of Leonardtown, Maryland.
