MIDLAND CITY…Stanley David Eldridge, a resident of the Preston Mill Community of Dale County, died Wednesday afternoon, April 13, 2016, in a Dothan hospital. He was 71.


            Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday April 16, 2016, in the Mt. Enon Baptist Church with Pastor Colt Hudson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. Saturday in the church sanctuary.


            Memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Enon Baptist Church Building Fund, c/o Charles Stevens, 3478 South County Road 67, Midland City, AL 36350.


            Mr. Eldridge was born and reared in the Preston Mill Community of Dale County, son of the late Leon David Eldridge and Eunice Holmes Eldridge. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War where he served two tours of duty with the U. S. Marine Corps.  Mr. Eldridge was a member of the Mt. Enon Baptist Church. He was formerly employed by Pea River Electric Co-Op and also worked as a truck driver.


            Surviving relatives include a step-daughter, April Williams (Freddie); a step-son, Benji Hicks (JoAnne); two brothers, Larry Eldridge (Bobbie), Midland City and Wayne Eldridge (Donna), Ozark; and several nieces and nephews.


            Serving as active pallbearers will be Gary Yarbrough, Michael Yarbrough, Lomax Kelly, Drew Givens, David Eldridge, and Rob Eldridge.
