Mrs. Walker was born on July 10, 1936 in Fairfield, Alabama, the daughter of Maultie and Irene Hood. She graduated from Fairfield High School and from Auburn University with a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology.

During her life, Mrs. Walker enjoyed traveling, camping and canoeing with her children, nieces and nephews. She served as a Girl Scout Leader for 10 years, mentoring many girls along the way.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, E.W. (Ned) Walker, her son, Mark Walker, and her brothers John and Bob Hood.
