SUSANNE  ECHOLS  GIGANTI

 

ABBEVILLE. . .Susanne Echols Giganti, a resident of Abbeville, died Saturday night, July 9, 2016, at her home. She was 70.

            Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 12, 2016, in the Calvary Baptist Church with Reverend Teddy Ward officiating. Private graveside services will follow in the Abbeville Memorial Cemetery. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Tuesday in the church sanctuary.

            In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity.

            Susanne Giganti was born and reared in Birmingham, daughter of the late Drayton Samuel Echols and Thelma Eloise Lazenby Echols. She was a 1964 graduate of Phillips High School. Susanne was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. She and her husband operated the J & S Accounting and Tax Service in Abbeville. Susanne was preceded in death by a daughter, Garnet Michelle Garvin.

            Surviving relatives include her husband, James M. (Jim) Giganti, Jr., Abbeville; a daughter, Jamie Giganti-Stover (Zac), San Diego, CA; a son, Christopher Giganti, New York City; a brother, Samuel M. Echols (Mary), Sunbury, Victoria, Australia; nieces, Jennifer Echols, Kristina Echols; nephews, Daniel Echols (Katy), and Timothy Echols (Maria); an aunt, Faye Carter, Helena, AL; and several cousins.

             Serving as active pallbearers will be Billy Wayne Bedsole, Terry Allums, Jim Smith, Kevin Venhuis, Joe McKnight and Eddie Dodd.
