Suzanna Pye Whittaker passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at the age of 63.  She was born May 9, 1949 in Texarkana, Texas to Allen Edward and Billie Atchley Pye. 


              Visitation will be at Searcy Funeral Home on Friday, April 5 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 6 at 11:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Enterprise with her son, Allen Whittaker, and Reverend Boyd Hartzog officiating.  Burial to follow at Meadowlawn Cemetery, Enterprise, Alabama.


          Suzanna was a graduate of Robert E. Lee High School in Tyler, Texas and a graduate of the University of Alabama with a degree in Elementary Education.


          She was preceded in death by her father, Allen Edward Pye and her brother, Bill Pye.  She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Richard Warren Whittaker of Enterprise, Alabama; sons Warren Whittaker (Melissa) of Tallahassee, Florida; Allen Whittaker (Rachel) of Atlanta, Georgia and Will Whittaker (Deanna) of Atlanta, Georgia; daughter, Julie Whittaker Henthorne (P.J.) of Auburn, Alabama; grandchildren Trey, Ansley, Jon Thomas, Tyler and Andrew Whittaker and Sarah Atchley and Caroline Henthorne; mother, Billie Pye Murphey (Reaves) of Tyler, Texas and brother, Allen Pye, Jr. (Linda) of Tyler, Texas.


          In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 200 Office Park Drive, Suite 303, Birmingham, AL 35223 or the American Heart Association, 3338-L Country Club Road, PMB 305, Valdosta, GA 31605.
