Obituary:  Ted F. Maddin



Ted F. Maddin of Yantis, TX and formerly of Daleville passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and friends, on Thursday, January 9, 2014 at the family residence.



A memorial service will be held from 1:00 – 4:00 on Sunday, March 23, 2014 at IAM LL2003 in Daleville.


Mr. Madden was born November 15, 1930 in Vernon, TX.  After serving his country in the Air Force during the Korean War, Ted began his work in the aerospace industry at Fort Sill, OK.  In October of 1954, he moved to Alabama to assist in re-opening Camp Rucker.  Through his leadership the International Association of Machinists Local Lodge 2003 was chartered in 1955.  LL2003 now has over 3,000 members.  He also played a vital role in establishing IAM District 75, which encompasses the state of Alabama and the panhandle of Florida.  Ted spent 37 years serving the Aerospace Industry throughout the country gaining a tremendous amount of respect from his Union and corporate leaders.




Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Anthonia (Toni); daughters Marilee Maddin and Allison Eklund (Brad); sister, Jolene Burton (Karl) Los Angeles, CA; brother, Jimmy (Katina) Graham, TX; brother, Paul (Betty) Arlington, TX; cousin, Don Maddin (JoLynn) Forney, TX; and numerous cousins, nephews, and nieces.
