HEADLAND. . .Thomas George (Tom) Vincent, a resident of Headland, died Saturday afternoon, May 2, 2015, at his home. He was 71.

            Memorial services will be held at a later date. Holman-Headland Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements.

            Mr. Vincent was born in Chester, Pennsylvania and was reared in Hacks Point, Maryland. He lived in Zellwood, Florida before moving to Henry County, Alabama in 2007. Mr. Vincent was a member of Freedom Fellowship in Abbeville. He was retired as a supervisor in maintenance from Florida Hospital College of Health Science in Orlando, Florida. In earlier years, Mr. Vincent was employed by General Motors in Wilmington, Delaware. He was preceded in death by his father, Aubrey Vincent, his mother, Evelyn Hanafee, a son, Gary Vincent, and two sisters, Martha Maichle and Jewel Rhodes.

            Surviving relatives include his wife, Ruth Ann Matchner Vincent, Headland; two sons, Jeff Vincent and Mark Vincent, both of Elkton, MD; three daughters, Phyllis Wilson (Ronnie), Apopka, FL; Elizabeth Wilson (Brian), Valdosta, GA; and Denise Lyons (Keith), Orlando, Fl; two half-sisters and three half-brothers; seventeen grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren.
