Mr. Thomas Junior Lewis of Luverne passed away Saturday, July 19, 2014 at the Crenshaw County Memorial Hospital. He was 66.

 

Memorial services will be held at 4 P.M. Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4-8 P.M. on Monday, July 21, 2014. Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to the Make A Wish Foundation or to the Wounded Warrior Project.

 

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.  Thomas received his Merchant Captain License in March 1997. He was a lifetime member of the VFW, a Master Mason B.A.C. #3 out of Los Angeles. He was a Reverend and Vietnam Veteran of the United States Navy as a BM3.

 

He is preceded in death by his infant son David Christopher Lewis, parents Shellie T. and Bernice Lewis, a brother John “J.T.” Lewis, sister Betty Jean Shirah and infant sister.

 

Survivors include his wife Ava Lewis of Luverne; daughters, Amy Alisha Lewis Peterson, Holly LeAna Rex, Yvonne Dawson, Jaimee Dawson, Paulette Dawson, Daisee L. Winks, sons Tommy Lewis Peterson, Dreven J. Winks, D’mitri “T” Winks, sisters, Annette Taylor, Erma Williams, Charlotte Sipple, Beverly Davis, Sonia Long, brothers Shellie Earl Lewis, Bobby R. Lewis, grandchildren Casey L. Rex, Edie E. Rex, Kalysa Hoffman, Cody Walker, Logan Jones, Andrew Pierce, A.J. Pierce, Alana Pierce, great-grandchild Scarlett T. Smith and many nieces and nephews.
