Thomas Walter Ball

 

Thomas Walter Ball, a resident of Dothan, died Monday, May 12, 2014 at Extendicare Health Center. He was 89.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 15, 2014 at Byrd Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. James B. Sanders officiating. Entombment will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Byrd Funeral Home on West Main Street directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 until 1:45 on Thursday prior to service time.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation, 1359 Broadway, Suite 1509, NY, NY, 10018.

Mr. Ball was born December 22, 1924 in Athens, Alabama. He was a veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He served in the U. S. Navy and the U. S. Army. He was a graduate of the University of Alabama where he received his Bachelor’s degree.  Mr. Ball was employed with GMAC as a district manager for many years before retiring back to Dothan. He was also an avid golfer and a member of the Woodsman Golf Group.

He is predeceased by his first wife, Helen and two brothers, Fletcher and Crutcher.

He is survived by his current wife, Peggy and several nieces and nephews.
