Travis Allen Williams Richards, age 20, of Enterprise, Alabama, passed away in the early morning hours of December 1, 2015, at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.

Funeral services will be at 2 PM, Saturday, December 5, 2015 at Enterprise First United Methodist Church.  Burial will follow in the Meadowlawn Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Enterprise directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 6-8 PM.

The Lord must have needed a good fishing buddy and decided to call Travis Home for an eternity of catching the biggest fish he could imagine.  Travis was an avid outdoorsman who was more at home lost in the woods than indoors.  He was his daddy’s best friend and momma’s sweetheart who enjoyed all things muddy and was always up for whatever shenanigans his sisters and friends were getting into.

Romans 8:18 says that “...our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us”, and that was certainly true for Travis.  He knew that the decline of his earthly body was but a small test of faith compared to what awaited him in Heaven.  He was a profound example of selflessness and love that provided constant inspiration to any and all he knew or met.  Some people are simply too good-hearted for this world and get to move on from it before everyone else. Travis was certainly one of those lucky few.

Travis was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather Don F. Richards of Vevay, Indiana.

Survivors include his parents Don and Jennifer Richards, and his three sisters Savannah, Rebeccah, and Caroline of Enterprise.  He also leaves his maternal grandparents Jim and Sarah Williams of Level Plains; and his best friends Kyle Campbell, Julia Moore, and Derek Friesen of Enterprise; as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
