Vernon David, 72, a resident of Midland City, passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at a local hospital.

Memorial services will be held 10 am Thursday July 10, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles Sexton officiating. The family will receive friends following the services.

Mr. David was born November 28, 1941 in Logansport, Louisiana and he resided the early years of his life there. Mr. David was employed with Dresser Industries in the oil business for several years and for the past 14 years he managed the Midland City Flea Market where he was affectionately known as “Pa Paw”. His hobby and his passion was his family especially his grandchildren. Mr. David attended Rehobeth Baptist Church.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Todd and Rachel David, Dothan; his grandchildren, Kristin David, Heather (Derek) Faison, Kimberly David, Tristan David and Christopher David; his great-grandchildren, Kailyn David, Connor Faison and Mary Faison.
