Virgil Russell, 84, a resident of Dothan, AL passed away Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at a local hospital.

Graveside services with Military Honors will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 25, 2015 at the Sunset Memorial Park Pavilion with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends following the services.

Mr. Russell was born May 10, 1930 in Campbell County, TN and lived there the early part of his life. He joined the U.S. Army and served in the Korean Conflict, two tours in the Vietnam War, and served in the Berlin Conflict. He served in the military for 37 years until his retirement in 1976. Mr. Russell was an entrepreneur and loved gardening and spending time outdoors. He was a Mason.

Survivors include his four sisters, Evelyn Jones, Sue Comer, Geneva (Bobby) Helms, and June (Al) Phillips; several nieces and nephews.
