EDWIN…Wallace James (Jim) Bamford, a resident of the Edwin Community of Henry County, died Wednesday morning, May 6, 2015, from injuries sustained in a tree cutting accident, which occurred in a field near his home. He was 68.

            Celebration of Life Services, with military honors, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, May 10, 2015, in the Church of Abbeville, in Edwin, with Brother Jerry Cross officiating. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Sunday in the church sanctuary.

            In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bradley-Keller American Legion Post No.119, Abbeville, c/o Freddie Brannon, 718 Strickland Road, Headland, Alabama 36345.

            Mr. Bamford was a native of Rumford, Maine, son of the late Roscoe Alton Bamford and Gladys Irene Williamson Bamford. He formerly lived in LaBelle, Florida before moving to the Edwin Community in 1973. Mr. Bamford served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and was a member of the American Legion, Bradley-Keller Post, Abbeville. Mr. Bamford was a member of the Church of Abbeville and was retired from Eufaula Trucking Company as the shop foreman. He was preceded in death by a son, Benjamin Jacob Bamford and a brother, Roy Bamford.

            Surviving relatives include his wife, Wanda Kay Easterly Bamford, Edwin; a son, Daryl Ross Bamford (Kimberly), Northport, AL; two sisters, Joyce “Jo” Barker (Rick), New Hampshire; Fay Barker (Bob), Livermore, Maine; three grandchildren, Brooks Bamford, Riley Grace Bamford and Barrett Bamford; three sisters-in-law, Sherrie Easterly, LaBelle, FL; Juanita Rivers (Terry), Blue Springs, AL; Sarita Easterly, Abbeville; and a brother-in-law, Joe Easterly, Naples, FL.
