Walter F. Norsworthy, a resident of Abbeville, Alabama died Monday night, March 16, 2015, at his home. He was 79.

            Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. (C.D.T) Wednesday, March 18, 2015, in the Judson Baptist Church with Reverend Brandon Turner and Reverend Gerald Ross officiating. Graveside services, with military honors, will follow at 4:30 P.M. (E.D.T.) Wednesday in the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Dawson, Georgia. Holman-Abbeville Mortuary & Cremations is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon until 1:00 P.M. Wednesday in the church sanctuary.

            Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Judson Baptist Church, c/o Ann Watford, 988 County Road 115, Abbeville, AL 36310 or to Covenant Hospice, 104 Rock Bridge Road, Dothan, AL 36303.

            Mr. Norsworthy was born in Geneva County, Alabama, son of the late Oscar Norsworthy and Connie Ruth Harrell Norsworthy. He served his country in the U. S. Marine Corps during the Korean War era. He was a member of the Judson Baptist Church. Mr. Norsworthy was retired as a District Sales Manager from EcoLab in Winston-Salem, N.C. He moved to White Oak Creek in Henry County, Alabama in 2002. Mr. Norsworthy was preceded in death by a sister, Carolyn Tucker, and a brother, James E. Norswothy, Sr.

            Surviving relatives include his wife, Sue Ingram Norsworthy, Abbeville; two daughters, Debbie Martin, Winston-Salem, N.C.; and Doris Walker, Dacula, GA; a son, Howard Norsworthy, Cuthbert, GA; three grandchildren, Ashley Buckley (Trevor), Courtney Williams (Clay), and Jake Walker.
