Wanda Lavelle Whiters, 54, a resident of Dothan, peacefully departed this life on Friday, November 21, 2014 at her residence. She was a devoted daughter, sister, mother, and friend. Wanda was truly loved by all who knew her.

A Celebration of Life will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jovan Goode officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.

Wanda L. Writers was born September 30, 1960 in Hollywood, Florida to the late Robert Espy Whiters and Earmesta Farmer Whiters. She enjoyed cooking, knitting, spending time with family and friends, and listening to music.

She leaves to cherish her memories, two sons, Marcus D. Tankard (Latisha) and Darius Jefferson; her loving mother, Earmesta Whiters; two brothers, Michael Whiters (Joann) and Jeffrey Whiters; one sister, Yvonne Beachem (Jack); grandsons, Isaiah Jefferson Baggett and Micah Tankard; nieces, Shanika Whiters (daughter Leah and son Aiden) and Chelsea Beachem; nephews, Nicholas Whiters and Jack Beachem III (daughter Jasmine); and a host of family and friends.
