Wayne Howell "Red" Johnson, 79, of Dothan passed away Sunday, November 3, 2013 at a local hospital.


Memorial services will be 10 am Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at Memphis Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing.


Mr. Johnson was born September 18, 1934 in Dooley County, GA and lived in the Blakely area the early part of his life. He was a veteran of the Korean War having served in the U.S. Army until his discharge in 1953. He resided in Blakely, GA and was employed with the Corps of Engineers on Hydro-electric projects until the early 70's. He later was employed with Daniels Construction Company on a number of projects including Farley Nuclear Plant from 1972-1984. Following his retirement he became a skilled wood-worker and made furniture and later owned and operated a machine shop until his retirement in 2008. Mr. Johnson was a member of the Camden, AL Masonic Lodge #25 and was of the Baptist Faith.


Survivors include his wife Janie Johnson; sons, Don Johnson and Michael Johnson; 4 grandchildren, Stuart Johnson, Kevin Johnson, Noah Johnson, and Marley Johnson; 1 great-granddaughter Isla-Rain Johnson; a niece and a nephew also survive.
