Carlos Wayne Riley of Hartford passed away Saturday, May 23, 2015 at his residence. He was 63.

 

Funeral services will be held at 11am Monday, May 25, 2015 at the 1^st United Methodist Church in Hartford with Rev. Jean Spikes and Bro. Gary Vickers officiating. Burial will follow in Hartford City Cemetery under the direction of Jimmy Bottoms of Bottoms Garden Chapel Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the church.

 

Wayne worked with Geneva County Gas District for 35 years.

 

He was preceded in death by his father, Louis Frank Riley; his step-father, Jewitt C. Goff; one brother, Jeffery Goff.

 

Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Virginia P. Riley; his son, Clay Wayne Riley and his wife Rebecca Riley; one grandson, Clint Wayne Riley, all of Hartford; his mother, Lucille Riley Goff of Dothan; two brothers, William H. Goff and his wife Kerry of Hartford, and Donnie Goff and his wife Rebecca of Cowarts; several nieces and nephews.

 

His love and friendship will be greatly missed by all who knew him. An avid sportsman and outdoorsman, Wayne leaves friends in 48 states. He leaves behind to cherish his memory and stories two special friends, Robert Earl Skinner and Bruce Gamble.
