Jiles Whit Proctor of Cottonwood passed away at his residence on Saturday, February 22, 2014. He was 77.



 



Born April 10, 1936 in Houston County to the late Samuel Cornelius and Willie Verna Smith Proctor. Mr. Proctor was a farmer who loved to fish in his spare time. In addition to his parents, Mr. Proctor was preceded in death by his son, James Whitman Proctor and his brothers, Fraizer Proctor and John Proctor.



 



Mr. Proctor  is survived by his wife, Edwinna Halley Proctor; his son, Jason Whit Proctor; his daughter, Patricia Ann Floyd; his brothers, Wayne “Sonny” Proctor (Marcie) and George Proctor; his sisters, Mary Chason (Charles), Luneal Morris, and Elaine Howell (James); and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.



 



Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM Wednesday, February 26, 2014 from the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Perry Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Madrid City Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 PM until 8 PM Tuesday, February 25, 2014.



 



Serving as pallbearers will be Jonathan Proctor, Christopher Proctor, Patrick Proctor, John Chason, Roy Barbaree, and Donzell Burnham.



 



The family will be accepting flowers.
