Wiley D. Newby, 81, of Dothan passed away December 25, 2014 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center of a stroke.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 Sunday, December 28, 2014 in the Chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Enterprise with Brother Teddy Ward and Brother Buddy Hood officiating.  Burial will follow in Meadowlawn Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday beginning at 1:00 and continuing until service time.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials can be made to the building fund at Pilgrim Home Baptist Church in Newton, AL.

Mr. Newby was Retired National Guard and a veteran of the Korean War.  He was a member of Pilgrim Home Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents Lanier and Bertie Newby, and a daughter Rhonda Newby.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Elder, a daughter Cassandra Pittman (Mike), a son Ronald Newby (Kathy), grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and a sister Cupie Jacobs.
