William Byron Worsham, a resident of Haleburg, died Thursday afternoon, October 15, 2015, in Noland Hospital in Dothan. He was 74.


            Graveside memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, October 18, 2015, in the Haleburg Cemetery with Pastor Anthony Rosetta and Dr. Richard E. Worsham officiating. Holman-Headland Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends following the graveside services.


            In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Haleburg Baptist Church, c/o Donnie Teat, 1019 County Road 72, Columbia, AL 36319 or to the Haleburg United Methodist Church, c/o Gayle Thomas, 5679 County Road 53, Abbeville, AL 36310.


            William Worsham was born in Moultrie, Georgia and moved to Haleburg as a teenager. He was a graduate of the Houston County High School in Columbia and formerly served in the National Guard. William attended the Haleburg United Methodist Church and the Haleburg Baptist Church and was of the Catholic Faith. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Elliott Worsham and his father, John Parnell Worsham.


            Surviving relatives include a daughter, Jessica Young (Ben), Dothan; a grandson, Daniel Young; a twin brother, John P. Worsham (Judy), Cullman, AL; two other brothers, Earl Blanton, Moultrie, GA; and Dr. Richard E. Worsham (Delane), Niceville, FL; an aunt, Jane Elliott, Haleburg; several cousins including two special cousins, Harnage H. Elliott and Tim Elliott.
