William Frank Copley

William Frank Copley, a resident of Newton, died Tuesday night, August 12, 2014 at his residence. He was 85.

Funeral services will be held 2:30 p.m. Saturday, August 16, 2014 at Byrd Funeral Home Chapel with Carl Hobbs officiating. A private burial for family only will follow in Newton City Cemetery with Byrd Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 1:30 – 2:15 Saturday prior to service time.

Mr. Copley was born August 20, 1928 in West Virginia. He was a veteran of the Korean War having served in the U.S. Army. He was employed as a Regional Director with Christian Record Services, a brail foundation, from 1973 until 1993. Mr. Copley was of the Seventh Day Adventist faith.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Copley of Newton; a daughter, Donna Shaw (Reginald) of Ozark; granddaughters, Holly Miller (Bobbie) of Dothan and Ivy Core (Patrick) of Knoxville, TN; a great-grandson, Jacob Miller of Dothan; great-granddaughters, Megan Core and Mollie Core, both of Knoxville, TN; a niece, Sharon (Steve) Bremner and daughters, Sarah and Katie of Chattanooga, TN; two brothers and a sister.
