William Paul Vinson, a resident of Headland, died Friday, March 25, 2016, at his home. He was 77.


            Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, March 28, 2016, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Larry Dykes and Reverend Roger Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory, between Headland & Dothan. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 P.M. Monday at the mortuary.


            Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be to a favorite charity.


            Mr. Vinson was born and reared near Pinckard, son the late Harvey Cornelius Vinson and Annie Pearl Cobb Vinson. He lived near Dothan before moving to Headland in 2011. Mr. Vinson was a member of the Napier Baptist Church. He was retired from Colonial Baking Company as a Distribution Supervisor. Mr. Vinson enjoyed fishing and the outdoors and also in earlier years, farming. He collected and refurbished antique Farmall tractors. Mr. Vinson was preceded in death by a sister, Amber Breezee and a brother, Euger Vinson.


            Surviving relatives include a daughter, Lori Vinson Bass (Joel), Headland; a son, Mike Vinson (Pam), Easley, SC; four grandchildren, Holly Vinson Graham (Cole), Hannah Vinson, Courtney Bass and Brannon Bass; four great-grandchildren, Neil, Johnathan, Ben and Katelyn; three sisters, Colleen Henley, Pensacola; Sarah Jones and Betty Andrews, both of Dothan; a brother, Joe Vinson (Peggy), Midland City; a sister-in-law, Pauline Vinson, Dothan.
