William R. Bush, 72, of Ozark, recently passed away at Colleton Medical Center in Walterboro, South Carolina.

Memorial services will be 11 am Saturday, August 16, 2014 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor David Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10-11 am prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mr. Bush was born in Danville, Illinois and lived the early part of his life there. He was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps where he spent time in Japan and the Philippines. He held various jobs throughout his life but his love of the open road always took him back to truck driving for companies all across the United States. He retired at the age of 62 and moved to the Wiregrass Area in 2002 to be near his grandchildren. After a brief attempt at retirement, he found that he wasn’t quite ready to give up life on the road, so he began driving for local companies around Dothan. He was most recently working with Circle City Transport at the time of his death. He was a cowboy at heart and lived the cowboy way. He was generous, good natured and easily made friends wherever he traveled. He will be missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his Father, William Bush, his Mother, Mary Roose, his Step-father, Joseph Roose and his sister Margaret Buckalew.

Survivors include his sons, Kevin (Michelle) Bush and Nathan (Tammy) Bush; their mother, Charlene Bush Szollosi; grandchildren, Andrea (Joseph) Tice, Alexis (Josh) Berry, Jesse Stephens, Kaitlyn Bush, Danielle Bush, and Chelsea Stephens; great-grandchildren, Jayden Tice and Jenna Tice; sisters, Mary Lou (William) Hazelbaker, Dianne (Chris) Shaw and Delores Davis; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and their families, whom he loved, one and all.

Robert Byrd of Sunset Funeral Home, (334) 983-6604, is in charge of arrangements. Please call us or visit www.SunsetMemorialPark.com for more information.
