Willie Pearl Carroll, 88, passed away Monday January 30, 2017 at a local nursing home.


Funeral services will be held 1 pm Saturday February 4, 2017 at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Midland City, AL with Minister Johnny Carroll officiating. Burial will follow in Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 5 pm to 7 pm Friday February 3, 2017 at Sunset Funeral Home.


Willie Pearl Carroll was born June 28, 1928 to the late Mr. Willie and Mrs. Ruby Stewart in Pike County, AL. She was the eldest of three children.


Willie Pearl’s family later moved to Midland City and there is where she met her husband of 46 years Willie James Carroll and to that union was born 9 children.


She joined the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church at an early age where she was a faithful member and served on the usher board and sang in the choir until her health began to fail. She was also a member of the Ladies Aide Missionary Society Lodge #259.


She was preceded in death by her devoted husband Willie James Carroll, Sons Kenneth Allen Carroll, Jerry Leon Carroll, a daughter Annie Doris Pugh, and a brother Johnny B. Stewart.


She leaves to cherish her memories her children Lillie (Mike) Smith, James (Mary) Carroll, Willie Earl Carroll, Johnny (Lisa) Carroll of Dothan, AL., Betty Moreland, Jerry Leon Carroll, of Midland City, AL., sister Mae Lizie Beacham, Headland, AL., sister-in-law Annie Stewart, Midland City, AL., son-in-law Larry Pugh, Dothan, AL., 30 grandchildren, 67 great grandchildren, 20 great-great grandchildren, special friend Betty Grimes, Braelyn Bigham (candyman), a host of family and friends.
