Wilma Lois ( Baxley) Hardy, a resident of Dothan, passed away Friday, August 9, 2013 at her residence. She was 97.

 

Funeral services will be held at 2 P. M. Monday, August 12, 2013 at Cloverdale United Methodist Church with Reverends Mark Lily and Tommy Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home Directing.

The family will receive friends at the church from 1 until 2 P. M., one hour prior to the service.

Grandsons and grand son-in-laws will serve as pallbearers and the Dorcas Sunday School Class will be honorary pallbearers.

 

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Cloverdale United Methodist Church.

 

Mrs. Hardy was born June 23, 1916 in Jackson County, Florida, the daughter of Alva and Lathan Baxley.

 

She is preceded in death by a son, Mickey Hardy, her parents and four brothers, Elmer, B. H. , Gene and Jennings Baxley.

 

Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Henry Clinton Hardy; two sons, Donnie Hardy and wife Pam and Tim Hardy and wife Starla all of Dothan; daughter- in- law Cindy Hardy of Birmingham, AL; Grandchildren, Celeste Butler and husband Scott, Sabrina Renshaw and husband Tom, Bryant Hardy and wife Paige, Brandon Hardy and wife Courtney, Joy Hardy, Brooke Patton and husband Tim, Blayne Barfield and husband Justin and Brent Hardy; eleven Great Grandchildren ; sister Evelyn Baxley Kinney and several nieces and nephews.

 

Mrs. Hardy was a charter member of Cloverdale United Methodist Church and taught Sunday School for over 30 years.
