 Wilma Parrish Buie

Wilma Parrish Buie, 91, of Ashford, passed away Sunday, May 24, 2015 following a long illness, surrounded by family and friends.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 26, 2015 at Poplar Springs Baptist Church, Webb with Rev. Mike Shirah and Rev. Jay Ward officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Byrd Funeral Home directing.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in her memory to Poplar Springs Baptist Church, P.O. Box 153, Webb, AL 36376.

A native of Houston County, Mrs. Buie resided most of her lifetime in the Ashford area. She was the widow of Wallace Edwin Buie and a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church.

Survivors include one daughter, Connie Buie Tucker (Randy) of Webb; one son, Dr. Clay Buie (Susanna) of Birmingham; 5 grandchildren, Adam Tucker (Dawn), Alex Tucker, Will Buie (Rachel), Drew Buie and Anna Buie; 3 great-grandchildren; one brother, Larry Mac Parrish of Atlanta, GA; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Mrs. Buie’s nurses and the staff at Extendicare, hall 7, for the loving care given to her during the last 2 ½ years.
