Witt Zbinden Miller of Dothan passed away at home on April 14, 2013.  She was 84 years old.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at the Geneva First Baptist Church with Rev. Nathan Carroll officiating.  Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with Pittman Funeral Home of Geneva directing.  The family will receive friends prior to the service, beginning at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday.  The family asks that donations be made to the First Baptist Church of Geneva or Heritage Baptist Church of Dothan, AL or Precept Ministries International or the American Diabetes Association.


 Witt Miller was a member of the Geneva First Baptist Church from 1952 until 2001 when she moved to Dothan.  During those years she was active in the music department, serving as pianist, organist, and children’s choir director and was a member of the handbell choir.  She also taught the Esther Sunday School class and was a Precept Bible Study leader.  During the 60’s and 70’s she was active in helping in the youth department at the church.  She was also instrumental in organizing and establishing the church library.


 She was a substitute teacher with the Geneva City School System and she worked several years in the local library system.  In Dothan she was a member of Cloverdale Baptist Church from 2001 until 2004.  In 2004 she moved her membership to Heritage Baptist Church of Dothan.


 She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Dr. John C. Miller; parents, Rev. and Mrs. A.D. Zbinden of Dothan; four brothers and one sister.  She is survived by her children, Margaret Witt Miller, Lillian Campbell (Thomas), Mary Jayne Miller, Martha Gene Miller, John C. Miller, Jr. (Audrey), all of Dothan and Barbara Hill (Ed) of Cumming, GA and six grandchildren, Ellen Hill of Lula, GA, Sarah Jones (Colby) of Ft. Worth, TX, John Hill of Orlando, FL, Corporal Steve Hill USMC of Camp Lejeune, NC and Kellie Hill and Lori Hill of Cumming, GA; and one brother, Bob (Zona) Zbinden of Dothan.
