Marilyn Yvonne Draughon Avery, age 79, of Ashford passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at her residence.

Born September 13, 1934 in Dothan to the late Lee and Era Askew Draughon, Mrs. Avery retired from Sony Corporation and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Avery was preceded in death by her daughter, Kathy Avery Moulton and her brothers and sisters.

Survivors include her husband, Donnell Avery; her son, Phillip Don Avery (Diane); her grandchildren, Tye Avery, Alec Avery, and Cole Moulton; her son-in-law, Bobby Moulton; and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Friday, May 16, 2014 at Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Doug Seale officiating. Burial will follow in New Harmony Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends Friday, May 16, 2014 from 1 PM until 2 PM service time at Ward Wilson Funeral Home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Tye Avery, Alec Avery, Patrick Smith, Larry Askew, Royce Conrad, and Matt Steele.
