Bill Filmore announces his candidacy for Circuit Judge, Place 1, for Dale/Geneva Counties.  Bill has the experience necessary for the office of Circuit Judge having begun the practice of law in 1983.  Bill was in the private practice of  law in Ozark for 20 years and then served as District Judge for two years before becoming the Chief Assistant District Attorney for the 33rd Judicial Circuit (Dale/Geneva Counties) in 2005. 


Bill was born in Florence, Alabama, and received his undergraduate degree from Troy State University, Troy and his law degree and masters of  law degree from the University of Alabama. As an attorney Bill served as the Prosecutor for the City of Daleville for over ten years.  Bill served as President of the Dale County Bar Association for two years from 1990-1992.  Bill serves as an Adjunct Instructor in the Criminal Justice Program for Faulkner University and an Adjunct Instructor in the School of Business at Troy University, Troy. 


Bill is an active member of the Daleville Baptist Church serving as a Deacon for over 28 years. Bill currently serves as Sunday School Director, Deacon, Trustee, and Usher. 


Bill is the Vice-Chairman of the Dale County Republican Party and on the State Executive Committee from Dale County. Bill was named the 2003 Man of the Year in Daleville, Alabama. Bill is the current President of Dale County Sav-a-Life. 


Bill lives in Daleville with his wife, Angelia, who is the City Clerk of Daleville.  They have two adult sons.  For more information:  filmore2012.com
