Headland Softball Takes Two From Straughn

Headland's Lady Rams Varsity softball team improved their record to 2-0 on the season and 1-0 in area play with a 10-0 shutout of Straughn in 5 innings on Tuesday in Headland. Headland was led by a stellar performance from Katie-Beth Drew, who struck out six while only giving up 3 hits. Offensively, Headland was led by Claire Bradshaw who was 3-3 with a double & 2 runs scored, Caroline Singleton, who was 2 for 3 with 3 RBI's & 2 runs, Brianna Skipper, who was 2 for 3 with a run and an RBI, Jaycie Walker who was 2 for 3 with 2 RBI's & 1 run scored, and Jordan Watson, who went 1 for 2 with a run, 2 walks & 2 steals. -Headland will next play against Houston Co. in Headland on Friday at 4:00 p.m.In game 1, Headland's J.V. evened its record at 3-3 with a 10-7 win over Straughn. Pamela Hatfield got a solid win & the offensive explosion was led by Hatfield, Hayden Littlefield, Courtney Cureton, Ciarra Sullivan, Diamond Townsend, Allison Nolan, & Emmie Burke. Next in Ashford Thursday at 4:30
