The Houston Academy Varsity Boys Soccer hosted Charles Henderson High School tonight at Westgate fields.
In a very hard fought and physical game, HA battled CHS to a 3-3 draw.
Charles Henderson scored half way through the second half with a free kick that caught HA defense off guard. CHS increased the lead quickly to 2-0 when they stole the ball of the kick off and placed another goal in the back of the net. HA was able to get one back with about 10 minute left in the half with a cross from William Morris and goal headed into the back of the net by Porter Mitchell. Just as the half came to a close CHS was called with a handball in the box and HA was awarded a penalty kick. The kick was taken by Talib Ghori which hit off the cross bar and landed at James Nelson's feet. Hammered the ball into the back of the net as the half time whistle was blown. Half ended 2-2.
Second half was played evenly on both sides, but half way through the Second half CHS forward took the ball at midfield and dribbled through HA defense and slotted the ball into the corner of the net. HA was able to bring it to a draw with 4 minutes left in the game, when Henry Beckett took the ball down the left flank and crossed the ball to Talib Ghori who beat a defender an placed the ball pass the keeper.
