DALE COUNTY - DOTHAN:     00:19 AM.    Dothan 911 dispatched Dothan Fire Engine 6 ( Napier Field Road ) to a critical motor vehicle accident at Barrington Road and Michelin Plant. Information to Dothan 911 one patient was reported to be unconscious.


00:23 AM Ozark - Dale County 911 dispatched Napier Field Volunteer Fire Department and South Dale EMS to 2200 Barrington Road, Midland City, to a critical motor vehicle accident with injuries,, vehicle verses power pole, patient bleeding from the head. Ozark-Dale County 911 advised Dothan had units responding.


On the arrival of Dothan Fire units there were live power lines down and a fire. Dothan Fire Engine 6 requested an additional engine respond. Dothan Fire Engine 8 ( Highlands ) responded.


Dothan Fire Battalion Chief Stephen Messer responded.


Dothan Police Patrol and Midland City Police Patrol were on the scene.


South Dale EMS requested Echo EMS be dispatched due to four patients. Dothan Fire had two ambulances respond with Pilcher Ambulance.


The arriving units were instructed to respond off Dale County Road 25 onto North Barrington Road.


There was question who has jurisdiction. The computer aided dispatched reflected that address was in the city limits of Dothan.


Napier Field Volunteer Fire cancelled Echo EMS for this motor vehicle accident. Ozark-Dale County 911 diverted Echo EMS to Canterbury Road to a medical emergency.


South Dale EMS transported one patient to Southeast Health and Pilcher Ambulance dispatched one patient to Southeast Health.


Utilities are part of the emergency response family. The computer aided dispatch was not clear if the utilities belonged to Alabama Power or Dothan Utilities. So out of caution Dothan Utilities responded also.


at 00:56 AM Dothan Fire reported fire under control.


Dothan Police called for a rotation wrecker with instructions to advise the responding wrecker a vehicle on it‘s side and was completely burned.


Dothan Police in charge of the accident investigation.


THIS EMERGENCY CALL,     Each agency operates on different radio systems and unable to communicate together via radio.


Midland City Police is dispatched by Ozark-Dale County 911 on P25 radio system.


Napier Field Volunteer Fire is dispatched by Ozark - Dale County 911 on a UHF Radio system.


Dothan Fire is dispatched by Dothan 911 on a P25 radio system but unable to talk directly to Dothan Police Officers and does not monitor Dothan Police. Their information goes through Dothan 911 by fire telling the 911 dispatcher who puts information into a computer and the Dothan 911 in dispatching police then tells police.


South Dale EMS is dispatched by Ozark-Dale County 911 on a UHF radio system.


Pilcher Ambulance has their own dispatchers but has Dothan Fire radios and are capable of talking direct to Dothan Fire Engines.


THIS WRECK had four injuries but only two were transported. If anyone has additional information TEXT RICKEY 334-790-1729 With the information and/or scene pictures.
