03:10 Firearm Assault Death In Daleville

DALEVILLE:     01:12 AM.     Daleville 911 received a call of a firearm assault in the 100 block of Woodland Drive in Daleville.

Daleville Police, Daleville Rescue responded. Also responding to assist Daleville Police Depart ent were members of Dale County Sheriff Department.

On arrival to the scene the emergency responders found a 17 male deceased on the scene from an apparent gunshot wound.

Daleville Director of Public Safety John Crawford dispatched members of the Daleville Police Criminal Investigation Division to respond to the scene. Dale County Coroner John Cawley was dispatched to the scene.

District Attorney Kirke Adams of the 33rd Judicial District, Dale and Geneva County was notified.

This was the result of an on going domestic situation. Daleville Police had responded to recent domestic complaints at this address. The shooter is known. At the time of this writing it is unknown if the shooter has been taken into custody.

Dale County Coroner John Cawley will transport the body to the Montgomery Division of the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences for forensic investigation.

Daleville Department of Public Safety Criminal Investigators continue their investigation. Sometime Tuesday Daleville Director of Public Safety John Crawford will released a more detailed statement.
