DOTHAN:    06:04 AM.  A Dothan Police unit traveling on Highway 231 North at Midland City at Covan Drive came up on a situation and called for backup ASAP.


The officer apparently stopped with a vehicle on the side of the road. As he stopped another vehicle pulled up. The officer called for backup, ASAP.


Multiple Dothan Police units rolled as did Midland City Police and Dale County Sheriff Deputies.


Later the officer reported an attempted Assault in the first degree.


All is under control at this time and most units returned to service with subject(s) in custody.


It is believed that while Dothan Police stopped with a person on the side of the road the other vehicle pulled up and trouble started between the two. UNCONFIRMED believed one or more had weapons.
