DOTHAN: 06:41 AM Dothan Police apprehended the stolen 2013 Ford Edge and suspect.
The call came out at 6:00 AM of firearm assault at the Shell Station at 1101 Ross Clark Circle.
On arrival of Dothan Police it was not a firearm assault but a stolen vehicle.
The vehicle blew a red light as it was traveling east on Ross Clark Circle headed back towards the scene of the original theft. The suspect was reported in possession of a firearm.
Dothan Police made a FELONY traffic stop. A FELONY traffic stop means officers have weapons drawn, under cover by other officers, and no chances taken. The suspect exited the vehicle as ordered by police.
After the one suspect removed other officers then, with weapons drawn and under guard from other officers then clear the vehicle for any other persons which might be in the vehicle. There were no other suspects.
The suspect is in custody. The suspect has been transported to Criminal Investigation Division of Dothan Police Department.
On the scene Dothan Police Patrol Division and Criminal Investigators continue their investigation
