DOTHAN:      07:46 AM.    Dothan Fire Engine 4 ( Southside ) at 07:51 AM arrived on Oppert Road to reports of a structure fire.

Dothan 911 dispatched multiple engines to reports of a structure fire.

Dothan Fire Engine 5 ( Ross Clark Circle ) is second fire engine company to arrive. They have staged awaiting direction from Engine 4. Dothan Fire Engine 1 ( Central ) arrived.

When Dothan Engine 4 arrived they reported a single story residential structure with no flames or smoke seen. Dothan Fire Engine 4 instructed all incoming units to stand by level 1 staging, which means be ready to connect to water supply and ready to enter the structure to combat fire.

By 7:53 AM Dothan Engine 4 reported all units could return to service. Engine 4 advised their fire engine company and Truck 1 fire engine company could handle. Engine 4 instructed Truck 1 to bring ventilation into the house.

The origin of the smoke was the oven.

At 07:54 AM the Battallion Chief returned Pilcher Ambulance to service.

DISPATCHED at 07:56 AM. In 5 minutes the first fire engine company on the scene. Within 6 minutes the second and third fire engine companies on the scene.

GREAT RESPONSE beginning with the most important part of the emergency operations system, the 911 Center. They rolled all parts of the emergency system and within 5 minutes the caller to 911 had fire units at their house and ready to combat the emergency.

That is what it is all about. A caller dials 911 and the nearest emergency units roll.
