COTTONWOOD:    09:16 AM    Cottonwood Ambulance and Rescue is looking for EMT'S, all levels and driver's.

Cottonwood Ambulance and Rescue serves 130 square miles of Houston County. The response territory assigned is from Highway 231 South, east, to Lucy and Highway 95 at Alabama - Florida line.

Of the 130 square miles, less than 10 miles of the response territory is inside a municipality. Those being Cottonwood which is 5.803 square miles and Madrid which is 1.75 square miles. The other 122.447 square miles of response territory is areas outside the corporate city limits of any municipality and in the county.

The State of Alabama, Department of Public Health - EMS Division is what governs the ambulance service. They require a EMS Service to acknowledge the EMS 911 page within two minutes and have the ambulance rolling within 7 minutes of the 911 page. Should you be able to meet these requirements you are allowed to respond from home. If not then Cottonwood Ambulance and Rescue has a station located at 57 Granger Street in Cottonwood.
