Last evening they found the drainage tube placed in the top of his head was leaking. The team of Neuro Surgeons made the decision to do an additional surgery and insert a shunt.

This morning that surgical procedure was set at 9 AM. It got moved up a hour while I was on the way to Birmingham.

Emily's husband Josh, her mother in law Kay Fails and sister in law Stephanie McCorkle has been staying up there. Brantley's dad had been there also as was myself.

Last evening when I asked Emily did she want me to be there she said yes. Understand, due to COVID-19 they will not let me in the hospital or in Brantley's room. The last time I have seen Brantley other than FACETIME was when he was placed in the helicopter in Dothan on May 10.

So even going up there I could not go in the hospital. So I took tons of paperwork in boxes to sit and work on while waiting on his surgery. Tons of paperwork on my role in Emergency Management and Emergency Medical Services.

Brantley did great. The doctors were pleased with the outcome. The first drain was on top of his head and shunt is in the back of his head. He will have a shunt the rest of his life. His participation in heavy contact sports is over. He can play basketball, baseball, some of those sports in time.

If Brantley continues to improve as he has been, hopefully ( prayerfully ) he will be released from Children's Hospital over the weekend. And that boy is ready to come home.

TO YOU....   your prayers, cards, text messages, phone calls, have been felt and seen. All of us love you for it and your love demonstrated to my daughter, son in law, Brantley's dad, and the entire family has been very loving and supportive. And from the bottom of my heart we appreciate it.

The next article will be a FACEBOOK post I ran across today written by Emily before she knew they were going to perform the surgical procedure today. She had a major melt down. And on her melt downs' ain't nothing you can do. And it is understandable.

Again, THANK YOU AND WE LOVE YOU.
