DOTHAN:    10:33 AM    Last date I wrote a article on the City Attorney position. And the comments were that perhaps Kelly was more honest than the City of Dothan wanted.

That comment was not necessarily directed to the current administration. In fact my dealings with Dothan City Manager Kevin Cowper is that he is transparent and forthcoming when asked questions. And I respect Dothan Mayor Mark Saliba and the commissioners.

The comment was more of what I have witnessed and have proof of that was some shady things, in my opinion, done by Dothan City Attorney Freddie Len White. And his withholding information from the courts that would have impacted the outcome of the Judge's ruling.

In fact, in my opinion, deliberate and intentional efforts to inflict emotional trauma to a person already having problems.

This is not a suck up article to the City Manager and Commissioners. In fact, I have no idea of who was even on the committee that interviewed and decided on the City Attorney position. I do know there were compliments from the Houston County Court system on the appeals and court last week held before Judge Larry Anderson.

But Kevin Cowper has been very responsive, transparent, working to move Dothan forward. Any public records requests have been honored and not seen anything trying to be hidden. Which is a dramatic change from the years prior to Kevin Cowper's arrival as City Manager of Dothan.

And Dothan Mayor Mark Saliba has been honest with me as well as the "current sitting commissioners" in answering questions.

But the history of Dothan, well the history has been just the opposite.
