HENRY COUNTY-ABBEVILLE-HOUSTON COUNTY: At about 6:45 PM Henry County Central 911 Dispatch notified Houston County and Dothan Police of a chase.
At the 6:45 PM the notification was Abbeville Police Department and Henry County Dpeuties were in pursuit of a motorcycle. The location was on Highway 431 passing Henry County Road 22, southbound.
As the vehicle entered Houston County, Henry County Sheriff Department backed off and Houston County Sheriff Department picked up the chase.
Houston County Sheriff Deputies were able to get the motorcycle stopped at Grey Hodges Road and Highway 431. One white male subject was taken into custody.
Abbeville Police Officer Fleming was in a line of traffic of about 10 cars, southbound, on Highway 431 in Abbeville. Reports are the motorcycle, reported to be a Yamaha 700, passed between the cars on the center line at speeds of 90 miles per hour.
Abbeville Police Officer Fleming activated his blue lights and siren and the motorcycle drive failed to yield to the lights and siren.
The chase traveled around 22 miles until the apprehension on Houston County.
The driver of the motorcycle, from Conyers Georgia did receive some road rash.
At the ajil the motorcycle driver made the comment that Georgia never could catch him so Alabama did good.
