OZARK: At 10:06 AM Ozark - Dale County 911 dispatched Ozark Fire and Ozark Police to reports of a structure fire at D.A. Smith Middle School in Ozark.
The school officials and children did exactly as they have drilled and exercised and all children were exited from the structure in an orderly, calm and timely manner. ALL CHILDREN ARE OK AND WERE WELL TAKEN CARE OF.
Ozark Fire Department had a quick response to the scene. Ozark Fire Chief Phillip Prince was on the scene and in command.
The source of the smoke and fire issue was quickly located to an exhaust fan in the AG Building. A interview with Chief Prince is on video.
HATS OFF to Ozark - Dale County 911 for their quick action, Ozark Fire and Ozark Police for their quick action. All were in place and did as needed to protect everyone involved and to locate the source and stop any major damage.
At 11:00 AM Ozark Fire and EMS were returning to service and the children back in school.
